Week 91 – Rest for the Wicked

Week 91 - Rest for the Wicked

So… you know how I’ve been cramming in crochet and trying to finish projects?

Apparently crocheting 7 large units and 6 smaller units is something my wrist doesn’t like. I’ve been icing, ace bandaging, and socking my left wrist and hand to get me to stop using it long enough to heal. Who would have thought I’d actually be banned from gaming, sewing, crocheting, and homeworking?

Week 90 – Cleaning

Week 90 - Cleaning

I’ve spent the week in a cleaning and finishing haze, from homework to art, culminating with a less-than-one-day visit from a relative, today. Combined with the aftershocks of last week’s anxiety blowout, I’m honestly not surprised to have come down with a migraine today after the chaos dissipated.

Anyway. I finished the Cool Scarf, and ran out of yarn on the Orange/Thin Scarves (how could I have run out of ORANGE). I then decided to make myself a hat to go with a shirt, but, of course, it’s Arizona, so it never gets cold enough to WEAR a hat. This is a prototype for future designs, so mock me to your heart’s content.

Aside from the two on hiatus, I’m down to 3 active crochet projects: Slytherin and Shaman Scarves, and the Tree Skirt. The mass-sewing cleanout cannot come soon enough. (But I would like to start a new blanket!)

Week 89 – It’s already getting warm!

IMG_1285

My computer has begun its biannual overheating extravaganza. I spent the whole week fighting insane anxiety, and so spent most of today on catch up on chores and stuff.

I completed three units of yarning and have one left to go on this scarf.

I’m hoping to get to the farmer’s market tomorrow for tomatoes.

Church is hurt and having to live with a cone. Here’s a video of how much she loves her marshmellows.

Week 88 – It’s TOTALLY Spring, Guys

IMG_1271

Hey everyone! I was less-than-wise with my yarn planning last week – and actually finished the dark rainbow blanket last week! My limited extra yarnbits will be used in more charity blanket rolls!

Continuing the trend of FINISHING EVERYTHING, I’ve finished making the monthly rope garlands, and I’m 4 units away from completion on the Cool scarf.

And because it’s spring, I wanted to show you my in-progress garden:

I planted 8 strawberry seedlings, and hope to add a little biodiversity to my jungle. Not to worry, my mamma-strawberry plant is still inside and making her own fruit.

Have to keep the littleones away from the javelinas!

Week 86 – Bleh

Donedone

Hey everyone. After my snout full of mold last week, I caught a cold this week, so I’ve spent most of my time sleeping and sleep walking.

Week 85 – Revolution

Week 85

Hey readers – after last week’s amazing revelation that I could do ANYTHING this year – I sat down and opened a GoodReads account (widget’s on the side) to keep track of my books and to find new ones.

Deciding that everything just needed to be finished, on Monday I got my hair done (cut and highlights) and two new piercings in my earlobes. I can wear four pairs of earrings now!

I read three new books this week, Ender’s Game, Intrigues, and one of the Owls of Ga’Hoole books. So I extended this to projects and went all out with 2 new units on the Bold blanket. It’ll be done by Saturday!

Week 84 – Bigger Family!

Week 84 - Bigger Family

My brother and sister in law steal the cake this week with their finished project, my new baby nephew (:

With the influx of materials I received for Christmas, I started working through the “hiatus” pile – and accidentally binged on yarn. With no more blather:

1. Finished Units on Cool Scarf (4 colors), Thin Scarf (1 color), Horde Scarf (8 color changes), Slytherin Scarf (2 colors), and Orange Scarf (1 color).

2. Added entire units to Thin Scarf and Orange Scarf

3. Partial Units to Dark Rainbow and Bold Blanket, the first due to time and the second due to a misplaced hook.

4. Started freestyle crochet on a treeskirt for next Christmas. (you know how I do projects).

Resolutions include finishing projects, adding more metadata, and impressing you :P

Week 83 – Happy New Year’s Eve!

IMG_1234

Hey everyone! I only managed ONE UNIT of this poor blanket because I was in Phoenix having a great relaxing computer-stress-craft-free week. I did actually SUCCESSFULLY acquire additional materials for almost all of the projects I’m on (brown felt is the only thing I’m missing), and will have this beautiful week to get it rolling.

Happy New Year!

Week 82 – Eves

IMG_1229

I completed the stockings from last week that I hadn’t been able to find ribbon for. To my embarrassment, I found the perfect ribbon at Walmart. The local craft stores had all been cleaned out of festives and non-festives.

The mittens, too, are smaller-ornament sized, but designed for Pullip, Namu/Taeyang, and Hujoo hands. I made 22 mittens, 2 stockings, 6 pompoms, and 4 4-color yarn-ropes (although I expect to redo one). I also powered through 5 rows (finishing up two un-finished rows and this week’s effort) on the Bold Blanket. An amazing amount of crafting (especially for me!)

Finally, my Angel!Pullip, Aura, would love to wish you a Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays), with her old ragdoll and her new teddy bear (that I picked up and modified for her):

Look forward to next week for the last post of 2011: I love a year that starts on a Sunday.
